Our Story & History
Dakota was founded in 2003 by Dane Craig. Dane was the only employee for the first year and handled all aspects of the day-to-day business. Dane was both the sales guy and the delivery guy in the early days of Dakota. We started small and organic growth followed.
Year over year, customers were added, and the supplier network grew as well. In 2010, Dakota entered into a partnership with Craig Cruzen and Maverick Logistics. In the years to follow, Dakota Maverick experienced a sharp growth curve, and that growth strategy remains in place today.
From day one, keeping our internal and external customers first has always been the primary objective and it is still at the core of everything we do. We are now a workforce of over 30 employees, operate a fleet of 9 trucks with dedicated drivers and service over 300 customers spread across multiple states. All of this accomplished with a basic mindset of keeping the customer first. This core value will remain in place as we move into the next phase of Dakota Maverick growth.
